Chapter 17 covers the drugs that cause sleep problems. It is vital to remember that older people are more sensitive to the main effects and side effects of medications than younger people.

As a result, we usually don’t have to go to the bathroom and we don’t have hunger at night. If you have traveled across time zones you know how discombobulated or out of sync you can feel because of a disconnect between your own body clock and the time where you happen to be. Restless legs syndrome is an uncontrollable urge to move due to unpleasant tingling sensations in the legs. Some women develop other problems that keep them awake at night such as cramps in their calves or back pains.
